I’d like to share this drawing sent to me by a colleague. It is motivated by the current news in the headlines about the situation in Cyprus, but it applies to all crises du jour that the media chooses to pontificate about.

While perhaps entertaining and dramatic, these events are out of our control and have no bearing on how our investments will perform over long periods of time. It is therefore always best to observe these with a certain level of detachment and get on with enjoying our lives. The financial markets have already factored these events and their likely impact into the current price of stocks and bonds; any price fluctuation in the future will be due to events that were unexpected, and therefore unknowable and not worth worrying about in the first place.

Enjoy the weekend!
